Play North – Backend Developer10/2025 – 10/2026
Project: Multi-brand iGaming Platform
- Team: 4 members – 1 Tech Lead, 3 Backend Developers
- Role: Backend Developer
- Description: Develop and maintain a serverless TypeScript monorepo (APIs, Strapi CMS, internal admin, integrations) powering 3 online casino brands on AWS, working in an international team.
- Technologies:
- Back-end: NodeJS, TypeScript, AWS Lambda (Middy), GraphQL, Strapi v5, Redis.
- Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, EventBridge, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch), AWS CDK.
- Responsibilities:
- Built collection- and provider-level game ordering in Strapi v5 CMS, keeping CMS and published views consistent, and fixed ordering regressions across Strapi upgrades
- Designed a webhook-driven publishing flow from Strapi for bonuses, promotions, cash drops and config items, replacing auto-publish with controlled manual publishing
- Moved payment methods configuration from the CMS to the internal admin platform with many-to-many relations, enable/disable controls and a fix for stale sync events
- Integrated a second third-party casino platform: launched a new brand on it while preserving the existing one, split GraphQL codegen into typed Admin/Public SDKs, and built Big Wins sync, bonus and promotion APIs
- Improved production reliability: triaged CloudWatch alarms, resolved a 10x P90 latency regression caused by DB connection handling, fixed Redis timeouts affecting 7 Lambda functions, and tuned ECS health checks for CMS publishing
- Hardened the dependency supply chain with pnpm workspaces/catalogs, blocked exotic sub-dependencies, a minimum release age for new packages, and upgrades of vulnerable packages
- Built Slack deployment notifications for backend and CMS, and drafted the estimation for multi-AWS-account environment support
